We also handle high-level campaigns and special projects for the Ad Council, that warrant a deep understanding of media gatekeepers and demand a strong attention to detail.
Our decades-long experience providing PSA distribution services to a wide range of clients has resulted in documented superior performance. In 2005, TV Access had more than 2 million television airings reported, and more than 650,000 confirmed airings by Nielsen Media Services, more than any other distributor. During the same year Nielsen sigma service reported that 15 PSAs distributed by TV Access ranked in the top 10 percent of all PSAs in the country.
These successful airings are fueled by our positive and long-standing relationships with media gatekeepers from all major broadcast and cable television networks. We maintain these relationships by continually soliciting feedback to ensure that we meet the needs and preferences of each station. We also survey television stations twice a year, once via direct mail and once during the National Broadcast Association for Community Affairs' annual conference. All of this also allows us to continually obtain valuable information from our contacts regarding our services. Our exceptional relationships also allow us to provide clients with an up-to date contact list as well as a deep understanding of the station's needs and perferences. Often, these long-standing positive relationships allow our clients stay in special positions within the networks, which leads to millions of dollars of additional exposure.
Each of TV Access's 17 employees have extensive knowledge of each of the elements of PSA distribution. Meet a few of our team members below.
Keith Hempel
Owner and President
Keith began working at FilmComm/TVAccess in 1974, a year before he graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. His prior experience distributing video programs, VNRs and PSAs, helped him worked his way up through the company, becoming the president and majority owner in 1989. Currently, Keith is directly responsible for the implementation of all aspects of distribution. He was initially responsible for the company's computerization in the 1970s, and is currently responsible for the design and implementation of the company's software.
His professional affiliations also help to keep him up to date and involved with the media community. Keith is the past president of Cablecom, West Chicago's community access foundation, an organization that has frequently been called one of the most active and best-run community access channels in Illinois. He has also served as the president and has held every board position on the Chicago Film/Video Council, a coalition of producers, distributors and support service members for the Chicago AV industry.
Cynda West Johnson
When Cynda began working with TV Access in 1987, she brought with her an accomplished film and video career, including a position in film conforming at Douglas Film Industries. Cynda has previously held many positions within TV Access, and is currently the head of the D.C. sales office, and the liaison to the broadcast networks. Her liason position has allowed her to foster positive relationships with network personnel in New York, which has allowed us to provide our client with exceptional PSA placement. Her work has also allowed TV Access to bring network support and members of top networks to many functions, including seminars in D.C. and NBACA meetings.
Cynda currently serves the American Advertising Federation in the Nashville Chapter and nationally, where she was instrumental in developing the national model for the local component of the Office of the National Drug Control advertising match.
